Baghdad: The College of Engineering at Diyala University has entered into a scientific twinning agreement with the College of Engineering at Al-Ma’moun University, marking a significant step forward in the enhancement of higher education and the development of scientific research in Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the agreement, announced by Anis Abdullah Kadhim, Dean of the College of Engineering at Diyala University, is designed to bolster scientific and academic collaboration between the two institutions. This collaboration will be achieved through the exchange of expertise and knowledge, the execution of joint research and scientific activities, and cooperation in supervision and scientific debates. The partnership will also organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and training programs, all aimed at improving the educational process and enhancing the efficiency of academic and research performance.
Kadhim highlighted that the twinning agreement is a strategic move towards establishing a sustainable scientific partnership. It aims to enhance communication between the institutions, facilitate the exchange of experiences and expertise, and support innovation and academic excellence. This initiative is intended to align with the developmental needs of higher education institutions and improve the quality of their educational outcomes.
The agreement supports the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4, which is centered on quality education, by fostering quality educational practices and academic partnerships. It also aligns with Goal 17, which promotes partnerships for achieving the goals, through effective institutional cooperation that advances higher education and scientific research.
