Najaf: The official match ball for the tournament's final four matches has been unveiled, marking a significant moment in the event's progression.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the special-edition Trionda will be featured in both semi-finals, the third-place playoff, and the World Cup final. This new edition of the ball will replace the version used during the earlier stages of the competition. While the original Trionda highlighted the tournament's three co-hosts - Mexico, Canada, and the United States - with a vibrant green, red, and blue color palette, the latest edition adopts a more understated design with White/Black/Gold Metallic hues inspired by the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy.
The design of the ball also acknowledges the tournament's journey, featuring the names of host cities that have hosted matches with some of football's prominent stars, including Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbapp©, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Notably, New York and New Jersey, the locations for the World Cup final at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 19, are prominently referenced in the ball's design.
The unveiling of the ball coincides with the tournament reaching its critical stage, as the quarter-final line-up begins to take shape. Several pre-tournament favorites, including France, Spain, Portugal, England, and Argentina, remain in the running for the title, although the two finalists who will compete for football's most prestigious prize have yet to be determined.
