Basra: The Basra Provincial Council recently engaged in discussions with UNICEF to bolster support for the organization's humanitarian programs in the region. Osama Abdul-Ridha Al-Saad, the Deputy Chairman of the Basra Provincial Council, welcomed Edward Beigbeder, the Director of UNICEF for the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss collaborative efforts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Provincial Council released a statement highlighting the focus of the meeting. Al-Saad and Beigbeder explored strategies to enhance cooperation between the Provincial Council and UNICEF. The discussions centered around supporting the humanitarian and development initiatives led by UNICEF in the Basra Governorate. These programs aim to improve the services available to citizens and bolster development efforts within the governorate.
