Najaf: The official spokesperson for the Supreme Committee for the Funeral of the Martyred Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, confirmed that final preparations have been made for receiving the funeral of the martyred Ayatollah this evening at Najaf International Airport. He noted that the official and public funeral processions will begin at 6:00 AM tomorrow, Wednesday.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Maan stated that the Supreme Committee tasked with organizing the funeral has concluded two meetings in Najaf and Karbala. These meetings were attended by Committee Chairman Ihsan Al-Awadi and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, to finalize the plan for the funeral processions. The planning includes integrating security, service, and technical aspects.
Maan further elaborated, noting their current location at Najaf Al-Ashraf Airport, where the body of the martyred Ayatollah is expected to arrive this evening. The official and popular funeral ceremonies are set to commence at six o'clock tomorrow morning in Najaf Al-Ashraf. Following this, the procession will move to the holy city of Karbala, with ceremonies there anticipated to start at four o'clock in the afternoon.
