Riyadh: Saudi Arabian Bahri Company has confirmed that the giant oil tanker, Widian, was involved in an accident while crossing the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. The incident raised concerns about shipping safety in one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Bahri stated that all crew members on board the Widian are safe and unharmed. The company reassured stakeholders that the tanker remains seaworthy despite the accident. The incident underscores the challenges faced by vessels navigating the busy and strategically important Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supplies are transported.
