Syrian President Engages in Talks with US Officials at NATO Summit

Ankara: Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with US envoy Thomas Barrack and a delegation of members of Congress during his visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, on the sidelines of the NATO summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani. Turkish media reported that the discussions involved members of the US Congress and the US Special Presidential Envoy to Syria and Iraq, Thomas Barrack. However, specific details of the meeting were not disclosed.

Earlier in the day, President al-Sharaa arrived in Ankara as the 36th NATO Summit continued into its second day. The encounter marks a significant interaction between Syrian and US officials amidst ongoing diplomatic activities at the summit.
