Funeral Procession for Martyred Sayyid Ali Khamenei Concludes in Najaf

Najaf: The funeral procession for the martyred Sayyid Ali Khamenei has concluded in Najaf. The procession, which took place on Wednesday afternoon, marks the first step in a series of ceremonies planned to honor the revered figure. Following the conclusion of the procession in Najaf, the body of Ayatollah Khamenei will be transported to the holy city of Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, an official source from the committee overseeing the funeral has announced that a helicopter will carry the body to Karbala. A special ceremony and prayers will be conducted there, led by Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, the custodian of the Imam Hussein Shrine. After the ceremony in Karbala, the body will be taken back to Najaf International Airport.

The final resting place for Ayatollah Khamenei will be in the Iranian city of Mashhad. The body will be transferred from Najaf to Mashhad, where it will be laid to rest in the shrine of Imam Reza. The series of ceremonies underscores the significance and respect accorded to Ayatollah Khamenei, whose contributions and legacy continue to be commemorated.
