Baghdad: Iraqi national football team coach Graham Arnold announced that he has asked relevant parties to contact his agent to discuss negotiations regarding his continued tenure with the team. Arnold stated in a press release: "I am currently on leave, and I have asked those concerned to contact my agent to discuss negotiations."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Arnold emphasized that certain requirements and conditions are necessary to advance Iraqi football. He highlighted Iraq's passionate fan base of 46 million people and stated, "There are essential requirements and conditions that must be met to develop Iraqi football."
Arnold further explained that to elevate the national team to higher levels, improvements in the local league and the establishment of strong academies are crucial. These initiatives aim to cultivate talents capable of playing professionally and exceeding the achievements of the current generation that participated in the World Cup. He concluded that the system requires foundational work starting from within.
