Baghdad: The Speaker of the House of Representatives has expressed his condolences to the Emir of Qatar following the death of his father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi conveyed his sympathies through a telegram addressed to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the current Emir of Qatar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi's message stated, "We extend our deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and to the brotherly Qatari people, on the passing of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him." The Speaker further expressed hope that God Almighty would grant the deceased mercy, admit him to paradise, and provide patience and solace to his family and loved ones.
