Minister of Trade Prioritizes Farmers’ Dues as Government Focus

Baghdad: Minister of Trade, Dr. Mustafa Nizar Al-Ani, has confirmed that disbursing farmers' dues is a priority for the government, with efforts underway to expedite payment processes. The minister stated that a dedicated ministerial committee has been established to ensure timely disbursement of payments, reflecting the government's commitment to the agricultural sector.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Al-Ani emphasized that the government, led by the Prime Minister, is focused on supporting farmers by coordinating with the Ministry of Finance to release their dues. During a meeting with farmers, the minister highlighted that the government is closely monitoring the allocation of monthly financial installments for the 2025 and 2026 marketing seasons. This initiative aims to address the farmers' financial entitlements and uphold their rights swiftly.

Dr. Al-Ani mentioned that the Ministry has organized a specialized committee to manage the farmers' dues and accelerate the disbursement procedures for both previous and current seasons across various governorates. These measures are part of a broader strategy to bolster the agricultural sector, enhance local production, and strengthen national food security.
