Tourism Authority Engages in Workshop to Revive Religious Practices in Husseini Revolution

Baghdad: The Tourism Authority participated in the cultural workshop entitled "Reviving Religious Rites in the Husseini Revolution," held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, and in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Qasim Taher Al-Sudani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the workshop took place in the Shahrazad Hall at the Tourism Authority headquarters, supervised by the Head of the Tourism Authority, Engineer Nasser Ghanem Murad, and coordinated with the Public Relations and Media Department and International Organizations. The event saw participation from directors general, officials, academics, and individuals interested in cultural and tourism affairs.

The workshop featured a scholarly lecture by Dr. Kadhim Shamikh Mohsen Al-Khazali, focusing on the intellectual and humanitarian aspects of the Husseini Revolution. The lecture emphasized the revolution's role in establishing principles of reform, justice, and sacrifice, and highlighted the importance of religious rites in preserving cultural identity and fostering social cohesion.

Participants agreed that reviving religious rituals is essential for preserving cultural and civilizational heritage, enhancing societal awareness, and strengthening Iraq's role as a guardian of religious and human heritage. This initiative is expected to boost religious tourism, attracting visitors globally.

This involvement is part of the Tourism Authority's broader efforts to collaborate with cultural and academic institutions, supporting initiatives that promote cultural awareness and preserve national heritage. These efforts align with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities' directives to enhance cultural activities and showcase Iraq's civilizational and tourism potentials.
