Trump Announces Strong Partnership with Iraq and Praises Leadership of Al-Zaidi

Washington: US President Donald Trump affirmed that there will be a strong partnership with Iraq in the oil sector, which will be announced soon. He described Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi as "a great leader who will be a leader at the Middle East level."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump expressed his support for al-Zaidi during a joint press conference with the Iraqi Prime Minister. He noted his interest in al-Zaidi's victory in the Iraqi premiership, citing the negative stances of al-Zaidi's opponent against Washington as a concern.

Trump further stated that he does not believe a military presence in Iraq is necessary. He emphasized that Iran poses a challenge to Iraq, describing it as a "bully" in the Middle East and criticizing the imposition of fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz as unacceptable.

Trump praised al-Zaidi's leadership qualities and expressed optimism about his long-term position. He confirmed his support for the Prime Minister and reiterated the potential for al-Zaidi to become a prominent leader in the region.

In addition, Trump highlighted plans for US companies to enter Iraq, aiming to increase investments and conclude numerous deals, leveraging Iraq's vast potential.
