Royal Decree Ends Haider Makkiya’s Role as Acting Head of National Investment Commission

Baghdad: A royal decree was issued to terminate the assignment of Haider Makkiya as the acting head of the National Investment Commission. This decision follows a decree by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, who formally ended Makkiya's appointment in this capacity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Parliament had voted last Thursday to dismiss Makkiya from his position. This decision was accompanied by a directive to refer his files to the Integrity Commission for an investigation into suspected irregularities concerning investments and contracts with companies and traders.
