Baghdad: The Maysan Writers and Authors Union hosted a cultural evening to celebrate the publication of the book "Diary of a Petition Writer" by author Ghilan, attended by a significant gathering of writers, artists, journalists, and intellectuals.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the evening was moderated by theater artist Salah Mahdi, and featured two critical testimonies about Ghilan's work. The first was by poet and translator Raad Zamel, read on his behalf by critic Rahim Zayer Al-Ghanem, and the second by poet Ammar Mohammed Aghdhib.

During the event, author Ghilan shared insights into his writing process for the book, explaining its origins in articles he posted on his personal social media page. These articles later evolved into a comprehensive book project that documents a turbulent period in Iraqi history, highlighting the challenges faced by individuals in confronting authority and enduring senseless wars.
