Baghdad: The General Company for Grain Trade announced the release of the fifth shipment of locally grown wheat to both government and private mills. This initiative aims to ensure the stability of the strategic reserve and the continuous supply of flour to meet citizens' needs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade, Dr. Haider Nouri Al-Karawi, stated that the release of this shipment is part of the company's operational program. This program is designed to allocate specific quantities of local wheat to mills, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted production of flour and the smooth distribution of ration card items.

Dr. Al-Karawi highlighted the success of this year's local wheat marketing season, which has significantly bolstered the strategic reserve. This success provides a strong foundation to fulfill the requirements of both government and private mills, aligning with approved plans to maintain a stable supply of flour to the population.

He further noted that the company continues to operate efficiently, implementing preparation and field monitoring programs to ensure the seamless and sustainable flow of supplies. Emphasizing the importance of food security and strategic reserves, Dr. Al-Karawi stressed that these are among the company's top priorities. This aligns with the Ministry of Trade's directives to ensure the stability of ration card items and meet the needs of citizens across all governorates.
