Baghdad: Trkiye's exports to Iraq declined in the first quarter of this year. Data from the International Trade Centre's trade map, based on statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), shows that the value of Turkish exports to Iraq reached approximately $2.3 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared to $3.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025. This indicates a decline in Ankara's exports to the Iraqi market, despite Iraq remaining one of Turkey's most prominent export destinations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, official data revealed that fresh and dried citrus fruits topped the list of Turkish exports to Iraq at $245 million, followed by baked goods and pastries at $95 million, then sunflower, safflower, and cottonseed oils at $80 million, and furniture at $60 million. Exports of jewelry made from precious metals reached approximately $58 million.

Other Turkish exports to Iraq included aluminum bars and sections, women's clothing, and silver. The data reflects the continued diversification of Turkish exports to the Iraqi market, with food products and consumer goods remaining at the forefront of trade between the two countries, despite a decline in the total value of exports compared to the previous quarter.
