Baghdad: President of the Republic Nizar Amedi said on Sunday that caring for people with disabilities is a national responsibility that requires coordinated efforts to ensure their empowerment and protect their rights.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office of the Presidency stated that President Amedi met with a delegation from the Renewed Hope Organization for the Care of People with Special Needs at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad. The meeting included lawmakers Ayat Adham and Hatif Al-Dhalimi and focused on humanitarian and volunteer work, as well as strategies to support community initiatives aimed at assisting people with disabilities and bolstering national efforts in this field.

The statement highlighted President Amedi’s remarks that supporting people with disabilities is a shared national responsibility. He emphasized the need for cooperation among state institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector to protect their rights, enhance their capabilities, and provide an envir
onment that enables their active participation in various areas.

Amedi further underscored the significance of supporting community initiatives that serve vulnerable groups, particularly people with disabilities. He noted that such efforts reflect values of solidarity and social responsibility, contributing to stronger social cohesion and promoting a culture of humanitarian work.

The delegation from the organization expressed their gratitude to President Amedi for his support of humanitarian efforts and services for people with disabilities. They affirmed their commitment to continuing their work in support of the group.
