Baghdad: Four individuals have been arrested for allegedly forging seals belonging to personal status courts and several judges.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council-SJC released a statement indicating that the Rusafa Investigation Court took action after receiving information from the Rusafa Combating Crime Bureau’s investigation department. The information suggested that individuals were seen near the courthouse in Al-Shaab, engaging in the forgery of court and judicial seals. A team was formed to investigate the matter, which led to the suspects being apprehended while committing the act.

The statement further revealed that the court has ratified the confessions of the accused, who admitted to possessing and using the seals to issue illegal marriage contracts. Their confessions have been documented as evidence, and arrest warrants have been issued for other individuals implicated in the case.
