Baghdad: The head of the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate, Uday Hatem Al-Issawi, along with his deputy and members of the central administrative body, visited Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi to offer their congratulations on his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom. They wished him continued success in fulfilling this national and intellectual responsibility, contributing to the enhancement of this prestigious institution and its role in serving knowledge and scientific research.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the visit, the head of the Teachers Syndicate emphasized that the selection of Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi to head the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom represents a significant addition to this venerable scientific institution, which was re-established under the House of Wisdom Law No. (11) of 1995. This law revives the cultural legacy of the Abbasid House of Wisdom, which flourished in Baghdad from the eighth century AD during the reign of Caliph Abu Jaafar Al-Mansur and remained a beacon of science, translation, research, and knowledge.
He noted that Dr. Al-Aboudi’s experience and vision will contribute to strengthening the House of Wisdom’s scientific and cultural mission and consolidating its position as one of the most prominent intellectual institutions in the country.
For his part, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi expressed his gratitude for this gracious visit, commending the role of the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate in supporting the educational community and defending its rights. He emphasized the importance of integrated efforts among educational, scientific, and cultural institutions to enhance the presence of thought and knowledge in service of society, contribute to supporting the educational process, and solidify academic and national values, in line with Iraq’s aspirations for a brighter and more prosperous future.
On the sidelines of the visit, the head of the Iraqi Teachers Syndicate toured the halls and corridors of the historic House of Wisdom building, learning about the history of this venerable scientific institution and its various academic and cultural departments. He also received a briefing on its history and contributions to intellectual and scientific research in Iraq.
