Counterfeit Currency Seized in Mosul, Suspect Arrested


Baghdad: A source in the Nineveh police reported the seizure of $100,000 in counterfeit currency and the arrest of its possessor in Mosul. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security force, in coordination with the National Security Service, seized approximately $100,000 in counterfeit US currency from a suspect in Mosul.



The source told the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) that “the operation followed a period of surveillance and precise intelligence, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of the counterfeit money.” Legal measures have been taken against the suspect, and he has been referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the investigation.
