Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, convened a meeting with the Director of the General Traffic Directorate, Lieutenant General Uday Samir, to discuss enhancements in traffic management in light of the upcoming Arbaeen pilgrimage. The meeting, held in Faihan’s office and attended by several Parliament members, focused on evaluating the current operations of the General Traffic Directorate, its future plans, and the primary challenges it faces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan emphasized the importance of amplifying preparations at the primary entry points to provinces that are expected to receive a large number of pilgrims for the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein. He highlighted that such measures would facilitate smoother traffic flow and alleviate congestion during the pilgrimage. Furthermore, Faihan advocated for simplifying administrative procedures and minimizing bureaucracy in traffic departments to expedite citizens’ transactions. He also underscored the necessity of ongoing efforts to combat bribery and corruption and to promote traffic awareness, aiming to safeguard citizens’ lives and ensure adherence to traffic regulations and public safety.
