Iraqi Football Association Participates in FIFA Meeting on 2026 World Cup Preparations

Baghdad: A delegation from the Iraqi Football Association, represented by the First Vice President, Sarmad Abdul-Ilah, and the President's Advisor, Ghaith Muhanna, participated in a meeting held by FIFA President Gianni Infantino with representatives of national federations on the sidelines of the countdown to the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup. The meeting highlighted crucial organizational and technical aspects of the upcoming global event.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting underscored the success of the current World Cup edition, with Infantino praising its expansion to 48 teams. This expansion has allowed more national federations to participate, enhancing football's global reach. Infantino stressed the importance of ongoing collaboration between FIFA and its member associations, focusing on development programs, infrastructure investment, and supporting national federations worldwide.

The Iraqi Football Association delegation's involvement in the meeting is part of its continuous efforts to promote football in the region.
