Baghdad: Dozens of employees of the Diwaniyah Governorate Municipality staged a sit-in in front of the municipality building to demand that the relevant authorities and the local government remove the municipality and its departments from political quotas and interference.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the employees are also demanding the payment of their overdue salaries, an increase in their pay, and the release of allowances and promotions. The sit-in reflects growing frustrations among the municipal workers who feel that political interference is hindering their professional environment and financial stability.
