Al-Zidi Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Emir of Qatar to Boost Bilateral Relations

Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi held talks today in the Qatari capital with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. The meeting emphasized Iraq's dedication to enhancing fraternal relations and cooperation between the two nations. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to Sheikh Tamim on the passing of the late Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He also conveyed his gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during his visit. The discussions highlighted Iraq's commitment to strengthening ties with Qatar to serve the mutual interests of both countries. The talks focused on various areas of joint cooperation and explored ways to advance these partnerships. They also covered significant regional and international issues, with particular attention to developments in the region. Both leaders underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in crisis management and emphasized the need to implement agreements with in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran. These efforts aim to bolster regional security, ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and contribute to regional stability.
