Baghdad: Minister of Justice, Khalid Shawani, affirmed on Sunday that the House of Wisdom is a firmly established cultural institution and a cornerstone for cultivating awareness and solidifying cultural identity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release that “Minister of Justice, Khalid Shawani, visited the House of Wisdom, where he was received by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Naeem Abdul Yasser Al-Aboudi. He was briefed on the institution’s current status and its role in supporting scientific, intellectual, and cultural movements, and listened to a summary of its most prominent activities and contributions to consolidating knowledge and enriching the cultural landscape in Iraq.”

The Minister emphasized that “the House of Wisdom is one of the most prominent scientific and cultural institutions in Iraq, given its rich cultural and intellectual heritage,” stressing “the importance of preserving its historical standing and enhancing its role in supporting scientific research, disseminating culture, and consolidating the values ??of knowledge, thus contributing to meeting the demands of intellectual and cultural development.”

He also pointed to “the importance of integrating national efforts to preserve this scientific and cultural edifice and enable it to continue its mission as a leading platform that contributes to shaping awareness, enriching intellectual life, and solidifying Iraqi cultural identity.”

He praised “the role played by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom, Naeem Al-Aboudi, in advancing this historical legacy and enhancing its standing so that it remains a focus of attention for everyone.”

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Wisdom, Naeem Abdul Yasser Al-Aboudi, reviewed the institution’s historical journey and its scientific and cultural contributions, its role in supporting intellectual thought and scientific research, and its position as one of the most prominent cultural institutions at both the Iraqi and Arab levels.

The Minister of Justice concluded his visit with a tour, accompanied by Al-Aboudi, of the halls and corridors of the House of Wisdom, during which he learned about its most prominent historical milestones and the intellectual and cultural heritage it houses, which embodies the depth of Iraqi civilization and its contributions to the advancement of science and thought.
