Kirkuk: The Joint Operations Command (JOC) announced on Monday that it had bombed six terrorist hideouts in Wadi Zaghitoun, within the Kirkuk Operations Command area. JOC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the heroic security forces, with all their formations and branches, continue to pursue the remnants of the failed terrorism and destroy its dens wherever they are found, affirming the pledge to preserve the security and stability of the homeland.”

According to Iraqi News Agency, the operation was based on intelligence information provided by the Iraqi National Intelligence Service and the Counter-Terrorism Service. The targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command supervised and planned the mission, which involved an airborne force from the Special Forces conducting a swift security operation at dawn.

The field operations identified six terrorist hideouts in the Wadi Zaghitoun area, which were then targeted with precise airstrikes by Army Aviation pilots. The Special Forces began searching the targeted area and completely destroyed the remaining hideouts, with the operation to sweep and clear the area still ongoing.
