Baghdad: Two vehicles were seized for violating import regulations at the Safwan border crossing. The Border Ports Authority announced on Monday the seizure of two vehicles that violated import regulations at the Safwan border crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a press release: “The Safwan border crossing directorate seized two vehicles loaded with engine oils (diesel and gasoline). After reviewing the customs documents at the search and investigation point outside the customs zone, it was discovered that there had been manipulation of the declared customs duties, resulting in the loss of public funds.”

The statement added: “A formal seizure report was prepared, and the two vehicles were referred to the Safwan Customs Police Station for appropriate legal action against the violators.”
