Baghdad: A technical malfunction in the electricity distribution network has led to a power outage affecting areas west of Baquba. The Diyala Electricity Distribution Directorate attributed the outage to an emergency technical fault in the 33kV cables, which supply the West Baquba secondary (33/11kV) electricity distribution station, causing the station to go offline and disrupt power in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate reported that engineering and technical teams were dispatched immediately to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair the issue. Efforts are underway to bring the station back online. The directorate assured residents that power will be restored as soon as the maintenance work is completed and the technical fault is resolved. An apology was issued for the unavoidable outage, along with gratitude for the residents’ understanding and cooperation during this period.
