Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have successfully discovered and neutralized 200 anti-personnel mines south of Kirkuk, ensuring the safety of the local area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams from the 16th Brigade, operating under the PMF’s North and East Tigris Operations Command, identified the VS-50 anti-personnel mines in the village of Talouiya. These mines were identified as remnants left by the ISIS terrorist group in the Kirkuk Governorate.

The PMF’s press release detailed that, following established technical protocols, the EOD teams carried out a controlled detonation of the mines. This operation was essential to secure the area, safeguarding citizens and preventing any potential threats from these dangerous remnants of war.
