Baghdad: The mayor of Al-Zubair district, Abbas Maher Al-Saidi, has issued a directive instructing the municipality to halt any plans to offer public parks for investment. This move also includes maintaining the current land use of areas designated for parks and gardens, preventing their conversion to other purposes.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directive is part of an initiative to enhance the city’s green spaces. Al-Saidi emphasized that the decision is aimed at expanding vegetative cover and increasing the availability of recreational areas for residents, thus prioritizing the community’s access to open and natural spaces over potential investment opportunities.
