Baghdad: US officials revealed to CBS News that approximately 100 US troops were injured in Iranian airstrikes targeting several US concentrations in the region this month.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed these figures, explaining that around 100 soldiers have been considered injured to varying degrees since July 7th, noting that 96% of them have recovered and returned to duty.

These injuries come amid a sharp escalation and increasing tension between Washington and Tehran following the collapse of the ceasefire.

The US Department of Defense had previously announced the deaths of two US soldiers at a military base in Jordan, the discovery of unidentified remains at the site where a third soldier went missing, and the death of another soldier in Iraq during the dismantling of an Iranian drone.

It is worth noting that the Pentagon has not yet officially released the exact total number of injuries or the extent of the material damage resulting from the latest round of Iranian attacks.
