Baghdad: The Baghdad Environment Directorate responded to a complaint regarding the conversion of a residential building on Abu Thila Street, opposite the Al-Ihsan Complex in the Jisr Diyala district, into an industrial site for the production of paint and gypsum. A team from the Industrial Activities Monitoring Division conducted a field inspection of the site.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the inspection revealed that the site was closed upon the team’s arrival, but there were traces of raw materials and operating equipment indicating ongoing activity. Several complainants stated that the factory operates during the evening hours and until late at night.

The Directorate confirmed that it has taken the necessary legal measures and will continue to follow up on the complaint in coordination with the relevant authorities, in accordance with applicable environmental regulations and instructions.
