Baghdad: Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri launched a comprehensive review of the educational supervision system on Tuesday, placing the settlement file at the top of the priorities. The Ministry of Education stated in a press release: “Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri launched a comprehensive review of the educational supervision system today during an expanded meeting, the first of its kind at the ministry level. The meeting brought together directors of educational and specialized supervision from across Iraq, in the presence of Technical Undersecretary Hussein Sabri al-Lami, Scientific Undersecretary Mahdi al-Awadi, Director General of Educational Supervision Omar Abdul Karim al-Mashhadani, and the Minister’s Office Director Hafiz Hamid al-Halbousi, at the ministry headquarters.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Jubouri emphasized that “educational supervision represents the cornerstone of the educational process,” describing supervisors as “the compass of education and the eyes through which the field is viewed.” He called for “leaving a real mark in the coming phase, with the supervisor’s role being based on identifying and addressing shortcomings, not merely recording reports or investigations, while holding those responsible accountable within the legal framework and without compromise.” He directed that “the settlement file be given top priority, along with holding monthly meetings to address staff surpluses and vacancies, completing a comprehensive evaluation of supervisory staff before the start of the academic year, compiling all investigative committees and their findings, and adopting implementation and field follow-up as the basis for evaluating directors.” The departments, taking into account the opinion of the competent supervisor on matters related to educatio

He stressed that “the ministry will not make any decision before verifying the soundness of its foundations,” rejecting “individual interpretations that hinder progress and harm the reputation of the educational institution.” He directed “the two deputies to follow up on and resolve all the issues raised, before opening the floor for dialogue with those present to listen to their observations and suggestions.”
