Baghdad: The Coordination Framework has resolved uncertainties concerning its position on an alleged arrest warrant for MP Ahmed al-Asadi, the leader of the Sumerians Alliance. MP Amer al-Fayez, head of the Tasmeem Alliance, addressed the issue, emphasizing clarity over the matter.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Amer al-Fayez, in an audio recording released on Tuesday morning, stated that the Coordination Framework sought clarification from Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi regarding the potential arrest of Ahmed al-Asadi upon his return. The Prime Minister allegedly confirmed the possibility of an arrest warrant. However, al-Fayez clarified, “No arrest warrant or summons has been issued against MP Ahmed al-Asadi because there are no direct charges against him.”

Al-Fayez further explained that his previous remarks about a possible arrest warrant were misinterpreted, leading to undue incitement. He highlighted that discussions surrounding a hotel associated with Ahmed al-Asadi had been misconstrued
and taken out of context. Al-Fayez stressed that his statement did not imply any violations and urged those who spread misleading information to correct their reports promptly.
