Iranian and Iraqi Officials Discuss Arbaeen Pilgrimage Preparations at Shalamcheh

Basra: An Iranian security delegation is discussing preparations for receiving Arbaeen pilgrims at the Shalamcheh border crossing. The commander of the Fourth Border Region, Major General Hikmat Halim Dhaya, received an Iranian security delegation at the Shalamcheh border crossing. The delegation included the commanders of the police and border forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. They discussed preparations for receiving pilgrims for the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Fourth Border Region Command's media office stated that the two sides discussed security and organizational procedures for the smooth flow of pilgrims through the crossing, ensuring swift processing and maintaining security during the pilgrimage season.

The statement added, "The two delegations conducted a field tour of the crossing to review the operational procedures and assess the readiness of personnel and the measures in place, with the aim of providing high-level security and organizational services for the pilgrims."
