Baghdad: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that Iran attacked over 30 commercial ships within a 90-day period, posing significant risks to the safety of hundreds of sailors navigating the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, CENTCOM disclosed that since the beginning of May, its forces have played a crucial role in facilitating the safe passage of around 900 ships, ensuring the transit of 450 million barrels of oil through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

In an effort to mitigate threats to maritime navigation, CENTCOM has also targeted specific Iranian military and naval sites. These actions are part of a broader strategy to diminish Tehran's capacity to disrupt the safe passage of commercial vessels in international waters.
