Baghdad: The Ministry of Culture is in discussions with Beit Al-Hikma to potentially develop joint research programs. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, in collaboration with the House of Wisdom, is exploring the possibility of crafting research programs that focus on visions and strategies grounded in solid academic principles.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the House of Wisdom highlighted that Sarwa Abdul Wahid, the Acting Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, who also serves as the Minister of Environment, recently visited the House of Wisdom. During her visit, she met with Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to congratulate him on his new position.

Al-Aboudi emphasized that the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to enhance coordination between government institutions. The aim is to develop executive action plans that align with the requirements of the government program by leveraging combined scientific, research, and technical expertise. This initiative seeks to enhance Iraq’s cultural landscape and make optimal use of the nation’s scientific and historical resources.

The discussions during the meeting focused on the mechanisms for developing cooperation and coordination between the two entities. The possibility of establishing joint research programs was also explored, aiming to address visions and strategies based on sound academic principles. The goal is to serve shared scientific and academic objectives, support the implementation of high-quality programs, achieve public benefit, and contribute to the overall development process.

During her visit, Sarwa Abdul Wahid also toured the halls of the House of Wisdom Foundation building. She praised the role of research centers in advancing scientific research, particularly acknowledging the cultural and heritage value of the House of Wisdom Foundation, which reflects Iraq’s rich history, culture, and creativity over the years.
