Baghdad: Security forces arrested two suspects for stealing electrical wiring from houses under construction in northern Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Baghdad/Karkh Police Command stated in a press release: “Detachments from the Karkh Anti-Crime Directorate/Tarmiya Division, after meticulous field surveillance, intensive investigations, and information gathering, apprehended two suspects specializing in stealing electrical wiring from houses under construction.”

The statement added: “Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were burning the stolen wiring to extract the copper, which they then sold for illicit financial gain.”

The statement concluded by noting that “the necessary legal measures have been taken against them, and they have been referred to the competent judicial authorities.”
