Baghdad: The Supreme Committee for Services has officially confirmed its readiness to ensure the success of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, announcing the approval of a comprehensive transportation and services plan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ali Razouqi al-Lami, Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Office and Head of the Higher Committee for Services for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, chaired a pivotal meeting of the committee. This meeting included notable attendees such as Hassan al-Asadi, Head of the Parliamentary Committee for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, Deputy Governors of Karbala and Najaf, and representatives from key ministries and agencies, including Oil, Electricity, Health, and Transportation. Additionally, representatives from the Popular Mobilization Forces and the holy shrines were present.

The statement highlighted al-Lami’s emphasis on unifying efforts and allocating roles among institutions based on their specializations to ensure optimal services for pilgrims and the success of the pilgrimage.

The committee discussed a detailed transportation plan for pilgrims, focusing on three primary routes: Najaf-Karbala, Baghdad-Karbala, and Babylon-Karbala. The Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Hajj and Umrah Authority and government efforts, is tasked with implementing this plan to facilitate smooth movement during peak times.

Representatives from the Popular Mobilization Forces committed to providing essential food supplies, including water, juices, and ice, to support the Husseini processions and serve the pilgrims, with assistance from various ministries, governorates, and supporting entities.

The deputy governors of Karbala and Najaf assured their readiness to allocate all available resources to accommodate the pilgrims. A representative from the Ministry of Oil detailed a comprehensive plan to supply generators, ovens, and processions with necessary petroleum products.

Additionally, a representative from the Ministry of Health confirmed the deployment of medical teams and ambulances along pilgrimage routes, ensuring necessary health services from border crossings to Karbala.

Al-Lami instructed the follow-up committee to enhance field supervision of all operational committees in Baghdad and the governorates, ensuring effective implementation of service plans and immediate resolution of any challenges, thereby securing the best possible services for the pilgrims.
