Diwaniyah: The Journalists Syndicate branch in Diwaniyah is in discussions with the Minister of Higher Education regarding the establishment of a media college in the province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate branch in Diwaniyah, Ahmed Al-Shaibani, announced plans to establish a College of Media at Al-Qadisiyah University. Al-Shaibani revealed in a press release that a meeting occurred with the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi, to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in the media and academic fields.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in media research and studies and providing professional consultations to media students to develop their scientific and practical skills. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.

Additionally, discussions included the possibility of establishing a College of Media at Al-Qadisiyah University, in collaboration with the university administration. Dr. Rahi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, indicated his willingness to support this initiative by endorsing scientific research and providing necessary resources for opening a media department.

Al-Shaibani highlighted that setting up a media department at Al-Qadisiyah University is a primary project for the syndicate branch, coordinated with the Ministry of Higher Education and the university administration. This effort is crucial for preparing qualified media professionals and strengthening the academic and scientific facets of the media profession to address the demands of media work.
