Basra: Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani has expressed strong support for volunteer teams and has taken steps to ensure their operational ease across various regions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor Al-Eidani highlighted the significance of the Volunteer Work Conference, describing it as a message to the government underscoring the importance of backing volunteer initiatives. He stressed that all efforts aimed at community service deserve support.

During the second Iraqi Volunteer Work Day conference in Baghdad, Al-Eidani confirmed that the local government in Basra is actively supporting volunteer teams. He mentioned that directives have been issued to facilitate the teams’ access to different areas for duty execution.

Al-Eidani also addressed the continuation of provincial projects despite facing economic challenges. He further commented on marine fishing issues, stating that the Iraqi Navy is responsible for defining fishing zones. He called for the Iraqi state to establish clear agreements with other countries to manage fishing areas, noting this as a common international practice.
