Baghdad: Al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, engaged in discussions with Sattar Danbous Barak, President of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Iraq and Deputy Secretary-General of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions, to explore strategies for improving the situation of the working class.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the coalition’s headquarters in Baghdad and included the participation of Abbas Zweir al-Atwani, President of the General Union of Mechanics, Printing, Energy, and Mining Workers, and Vian Khalil Saber, President of the General Union of Transport and Communications Workers. The discussions focused on enhancing the conditions of workers and boosting productivity across key sectors.

The attendees highlighted the necessity of implementing fair legislation and laws to ensure legal protection for workers. They underscored how such measures could contribute to economic stability and reinforce the role of trade unions as a crucial element of development and democracy in Iraq.
