Kirkuk: Kirkuk is experiencing a crisis in electricity and fuel supplies. The electricity and fuel crisis is escalating in Kirkuk, with public discontent growing due to the lack of services amidst rising temperatures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, citizens reported that Kirkuk, one of Iraq’s richest cities and a symbol of its national identity, is experiencing power outages of up to 19 hours daily. Residents are queuing for 50 liters of fuel per week through a coupon system, and the quality is substandard.

Government-run gas stations in Kirkuk have been experiencing significant overcrowding for some time, where subsidized gasoline is sold for 450 dinars per liter via the coupon system. Meanwhile, fuel prices at private gas stations have risen sharply, reaching the following: regular gasoline: 1,100 dinars per liter; premium gasoline: 1,350 dinars per liter; and super gasoline: 1,450 dinars per liter.
