Baquba: Expired medicines and others bearing counterfeit price tags were seized from pharmacies in Baquba. The Diyala Health Department announced the implementation of intensive inspection campaigns targeting pharmacies and private laboratories in Baquba district as part of an ongoing monitoring program aimed at enhancing drug safety and improving the level of health services provided to citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faris al-Azzawi, Director of Media for the Diyala Health Department, stated that the inspection campaigns resulted in the seizure of quantities of untested medications, others bearing counterfeit price tags, as well as medications damaged due to improper storage and failure to comply with approved health standards.

Al-Azzawi emphasized that protecting citizens’ health and ensuring the quality of health services are a fundamental priority, stressing that the necessary legal measures will be taken against violators in accordance with the approved regulations and instructions.
