Baghdad: The Supreme Judicial Council has granted judicial positions and approved appointments in several appellate courts, marking a significant update in the judiciary system.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Council’s media office released a statement revealing that the Supreme Judicial Council convened for its eighth session, with Judge Faiq Zaidan, President of the Federal Court of Cassation, chairing the meeting. During this session, a memorial service was conducted at the Public Prosecutor’s office in Basra to honor the late Deputy Public Prosecutor, Nazim Sha’ir Hammadi.

The statement also noted that several judges and members of the Public Prosecution had been transferred and seconded. It emphasized that the decisions to grant judicial positions and approve appointments in certain appellate courts were made in alignment with public interest requirements.
