Baghdad: The Reconstruction and Development Alliance announced the election of its new leadership, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the government and the Supreme Judicial Council and activating the legislative and oversight role of the Council of Representatives.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Alliance leader MP Bahaa al-Araji stated in a press conference that Mansour al-Baiji and Haider al-Fawadi were chosen as vice presidents of the alliance. Additionally, MP Hayam al-Hassan was appointed as the alliance’s rapporteur, and MP Diaa Shaghati al-Zidi as the bloc’s official spokesperson.

Al-Araji emphasized that the alliance’s program for the next phase focuses on supporting the Iraqi government and its prime minister in implementing the government program, advancing anti-corruption efforts, and ensuring that weapons are exclusively in the hands of the state.

On the judicial and parliamentary front, the alliance reiterated its full support for the Supreme Judicial Council and its president, Judge Faiq Zaidan, in measures recently taken. The bloc aims to restore the effectiveness of the Council of Representatives by enabling it to exercise its constitutional legislative and oversight role, push for the enactment of service and livelihood laws, and ensure that these measures directly impact the lives of Iraqi citizens.
