Baghdad: FIFA has revealed the official data on the fastest players in the 2026 World Cup, settling the debate about who will be the fastest in the tournament. Despite many top teams boasting stars known for their speed, the final list didn’t always meet fans’ expectations. Some prominent names were absent, while players who weren’t considered among the favorites before the tournament began made the cut.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the list of the 10 fastest players in the 2026 World Cup is as follows:

Nelson Semedo, the Portuguese full-back, recorded a top speed of 35.90 km/h, making him the oldest player in the list of the 20 fastest players at 32 years old. Theo Hernandez, the French full-back, reached a speed of 36.17 km/h. Digder Spence, a Tottenham player, reached a speed of 36.22 km/h, making him the fastest English player at the 2026 World Cup. Bradley Barkola, the Paris Saint-Germain winger, came in seventh place after recording a top speed of 36.32 km/h.

Abdulkadir Khusanov, a Manchester City player, finished sixth with a speed of 36.46 km/h and was the only player on the list whose national team did not reach the knockout stages. Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, finished fifth with a speed of 36.52 km/h. Jordan Buss, an Australian player, continued his impressive physical performance, reaching a speed of 36.67 km/h, placing him fourth in the rankings.

Micky van de Veen, a Tottenham defender, confirmed his exceptional abilities by becoming the fastest defender in the tournament with a speed of 36.77 km/h. Anthony Illanga, the Swedish winger, closed the gap on the leader after recording a speed of 37.16 km/h, just a few miles behind.

At the top of the list is Kylian Mbapp©, the Real Madrid star, who continued to make history by topping the list of the fastest players at the 2026 World Cup, reaffirming his status as one of the fastest players in football history.
