Baghdad: The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Captain Alaa Abdul Hassan Al-Akeeli, met with the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Hazem Al-Hafazi, to discuss enhancing logistical support for pilgrims at the Shalamcheh border crossing. The discussions focused on facilitating the movement of pilgrims traveling to the shrine of Imam Hussein for Arbaeen.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the company’s headquarters, where Al-Akeeli and Al-Hafazi explored various mechanisms to coordinate the efforts of the Ministry of Transport’s departments and the General Company for Iraqi Ports. The aim is to provide the necessary logistical and field support crucial for the pilgrimage service plan.

Al-Akeeli emphasized that the company, following directives from the Minister of Transport, is committed to supporting government efforts by utilizing its capabilities, equipment, and resources. This commitment is aimed at ensuring the smooth movement of pilgrims, improving the services provided to them, and achieving the success of the Ministry’s plan for the pilgrimage season.
