Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, convened a meeting in his office with tribal leaders, dignitaries, and service department officials from the al-Dujail district. The gathering, which included the Minister of Water Resources, Muthanna al-Tamimi, and the representative for Salah al-Din Governorate, Muhammad al-Baldawi, centered on addressing critical challenges in the district’s service sectors, such as water, health, electricity, agriculture, and infrastructure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan emphasized the sacrifices made by the people of Al-Dujail in combating terrorism and defending Iraq’s holy sites. He highlighted the district’s marginalization and called for a serious intervention to restore its developmental and service rights. Faihan assured that the House of Representatives would maintain its oversight role to ensure the district receives its entitlements.

Faihan also instructed that key officials, including the Director of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Affected Areas and the Governor of Salah al-Din, be engaged by various committees to evaluate the district’s needs. He committed to following up on issues with executive bodies to provide practical solutions within specific timeframes.

The meeting involved a thorough review of the district’s service needs, particularly focusing on the reduced water allocation in the Ishaqi project. The Minister of Water Resources pledged to increase water releases and conduct a field visit to the district soon.

Discussions also covered challenges in municipal, sewage, health, and electricity sectors, as well as agriculture and infrastructure. The importance of integrating efforts to expedite project implementation and address citizen needs was underscored, acknowledging the sacrifices of Dujail’s residents and aiming for desired development.

The tribal leaders and dignitaries of Dujail district expressed gratitude to Faihan for his attention to the district’s affairs and immediate response to issues discussed during the meeting. They noted that this follow-up signifies a commitment to ensuring justice for the judiciary and improving services, thus meeting the citizens’ aspirations and enhancing service provision.
