Baghdad: The Prime Minister’s media office on Friday denied a New York Times report about mediation to establish a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, ‘Regarding the report published by The New York Times on July 23, 2026, the Media Office of the Prime Minister affirms that the allegations contained in the report are entirely unfounded and bear no relation to reality.’

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office calls on all media outlets to exercise accuracy, rely on official sources, and refrain from circulating unverified information or information attributed to anonymous sources.
